Scooter Excursion + Maui Vacation

So its the first full day into Maui, and my awesome brother-in-law and I decided we wanted to rent scooters to cruise the island.

We had quite the excursion tearing up the coast and we got some fun images….a video is coming soon. Also had some fun shooting some pano’s of the beautiful coastline.

Jared + Shiloh Dance Off

So aside from being an amazing wedding, the reception was quite the dance party. I have never seen a wedding party and guests dance as long and hard as these guys did. I enjoyed the expressions of the bidde and groom so much, that I had to post a whole separate post of their reception pictures. Here are some of my favorites.

Jared + Shiloh Married

Jared and Shiloh came, they laughed, they cried, and they conquered. I had the opportunity to shoot this amazing wedding at the Darlington House, and had the talented Colleen Sherman by my side as a secondary. Both of the families were amazing and I have never seen a wedding with a such fun guests.

The entire day was a celebration and I loved every part of it. I knew that once I was done shooting Jared and Shiloh’s engagement, they were going to be one of my favorite couples. They deeply love each other, their family, and other. We have prayed for each other, laughed together, and I hope I get to get to see more of this couple in my future. So blessed.

BTW, I had to make a whole separate post for Jared and Shiloh’s awesome dance moves…..Peep It.

Kyle + Laura Married

If I had to pick on word to describe this couple, it would definitely be “passion.” They are not only passionate about each other, but more importantly passionate about God and others. These two beautiful people have devoted their lives to investing in others through relationships, missions, and social justice. I could not have been more blessed to be a small part in their greater story. I absolutely love Kyle and Laura to death and you will definitely be able to see their love for each other in these images.

While talking about social justice, I also had an amazing time documenting this wedding with Kevin Trout and Ashley Gutierrez of Fourth Floor Media….who also are involved with Invisible Children. IC is one of the non-profits that 1011 gladly supports, so it was awesome to co-labor with them. Big shout out to Kevin & Ashley! You can see what they captured from their perspective here. Always a pleasure to work with new & fun vendors.

Baby Beuk + Coming Soon 2012

Three years ago, today, we promised to walk beside each other, hand in hand through life. We promised to always love, laugh, and share this journey together. Three years later, and after a year and a half of trying to build our family, we are excited to happily announce our soon-to-be tiny addition.

Mothers Day, 2011, was one of the best moments we have shared as a married couple. Announcing that we are expecting our first baby to our parents, after years of prayers, doctors visits, and not knowing if we could get pregnant at all, was one of the greatest joys we have experienced. We found out that we were expecting the week before mothers day on Cinco De Mayo…

Onnnnnn a side note, I can’t lie- I took the test (because I wanted a Margarita and was playing it safe) and was so shocked to see a positive sign I called Joel and asked him to come home immediately. He was, of course, running an errand for me and was at the store- so naturally I just blurted it out….over the phone. I know,….but I couldn’t keep it in. So, Joel definitely found out while standing in front of the toothpaste at the grocery store- so us…

As soon as we found out we asked our dear friend Amy, from The Wedding Chicks and On To Baby, to make us a Custom Onsie for our moms to open on Mother’s Day. She adorably placed “Coming Soon – 2012″, and joyful, and thankful, tears were had.

We find out the sex of the baby in two weeks, and could not be more excited, blessed, or emotional (okay, maybe that’s just me), than we are.

Thank you to all of our friends and family for all of the prayers and well wishes over the last year and half. Love you all….

Degan + Angelina Married

So 17 months ago I got hired as a full time graphics designer at a company called Esri. Little did I know that on that same day, a future client, bride, and friend was also getting hired. Angelina and I are coworkers and have become good friends, so I was pleased to find out that she wanted me to be her wedding photographer. Degan and Angelina have been best friends forever and are finally tying the knot. They are sooooo down to earth and I couldn’t have picked a better couple to shoot. So excited to shoot their wedding this year. Enjoy.

Kernville Birthday :: Day 2

So it has been pretty hectic and I havent quite had time to blog the second day of my birthday excursion to Kernville, but HERE IT IS. We had an amazing day full of beer drinking, natural water sliding, and laughs. We were hoping for a nice sunny day however ended getting snowed on….no biggie. Cant wait to go back.

Kernville Birthday :: Day 1

So for my 2012 New Years Resolution I made an Anti-Resolution. I am quite a work-a-holic but, long story short my resolution was about working less and spending more time with the people I love and getting back to creating things just for creativities sake. In all of this I wanted to start a personal blog to have fun taking photos (just to take photos…not for work) and to share a little more with my friends, family, and community. My 26th brithday trip was a perfect opportunity to launch this blog, so here it is!

I am a lover of nature and grew up spending most my vacations in a tent in the redwoods or on back county backpacking adventure. That being said, any chance I get I love to get out of the business of the city and retreat to good ol’ mother nature. For my 26th birthday, we drove out to Kernville, CA with our great friends (and Industry friends) Kyle & Colleen (aka Color Me Rad Photography). We had a great time sippin beer, eating greasy foods, and chillin by the river. This is just the first 24 hours of the excursion. More to come. Much Love!

Chris + Allissa Married

So after crazy snow reports, putting on chains in a blizzard, and attempting not to kill myself on the way to this wedding, I finally arrived to the beautiful Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa. Chris and Allissa were a beautiful couple and in spite of the weather, kept their spirits high. Unfortunately, we had to move the ceremony inside, but the trade off was worth it. We had a fresh drop of snow and the wedding party was brave enough to tackle the cold. We got some great images and Jacob Mariano kept me on track as my secondary. It turned out to be a great day and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Much Love!
